At the age of 16, Bill Ballenger became a resident of White’s Residential & Family Services in Wabash County, Indiana. From there he saw freedom only briefly before heading to prison. Somewhere in the midst of his prison time Bill Ballenger found God - or perhaps God found him. Then, after 2 years and a miraculous turn of events Bill found himself released early from prison.
Since his release from prison, Bill has served as a pastor, worship leader, speaker and musician. Now, with the help of his wife, Jodie, his most recent endeavor has been to establish "Break the Grey.” Break the Grey is an organization that is focused on “Defining Life for America’s Youth” through public school assemblies and events.
During the 2009 Indianapolis Prayer Breakfast, Bill will be in the midst of touring over 20 central Indiana public schools to promote character and vision among students. His tour will end with the release of his new CD, “Skin Deep,” and a grand finale concert at the New Castle Indiana Chrysler Fieldhouse on November 5th.
Bill is very thankful for the many opportunities and venues he has been given to share his story. That includes hundreds of concert performances around the United States, Russia and China. He performed before an estimated crowd of 90,000 people here, at the Indianapolis "Circle of Lights," he has appeared internationally on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and he is a frequent guest on the New Jim Bakker Show in Branson, MO, a broadcast that reaches over 200 countries worldwide. |
